Wilderness First Responder Course
This 72+ hour course is the industry standard for professional outdoor guides, ski patrol, and trip leaders, or for individuals who want a high level of wilderness medical training for extended personal backcountry trips or expeditions. The course is being run by Global EMS Solutions and their instructors, utilizing Wilderness Medical Associates International’s (WMAI) curriculum.
Course Dates, Costs and Additional Information
Tuesday, May 19th – Monday, May 25th, 2026
Course Registration: $800
Lodging at North Star: $100
Meals: $150
Minneapolis – St. Paul Airport Shuttle (each way): $75
The WFR Course will be held at North Star Camp, located at 10970 W. Boys Camp Road, Hayward, WI 54843. Costs includes course and materials.
Instruction begins at 9am on May 19th. Participants who are staying at North Star are encouraged to arrive the afternoon or evening of May 18th. Dinner will be provided on the 18th. Ending time on the final day of the course will be determined by the instructor. Participants are expected to be at the course for its entirety and pass all quizzes and exams in order to obtain certification.
