Watercrafts, Fun Bugging, & Kayaking

Aside from the numerous instructional opportunities, campers at North Star Camp for Boys love getting out on the water just to play around. During our organized free fifth periods, we always have an open waterfront. One of the most popular places at that time is the Fun Bug area. On a hot summer day, you’re bound to find dozens of campers out on our various recreational boats.

Surf bikes, paddle boats, and fun yaks are just a few of the watercraft that our campers enjoy. But we can’t leave out fun bugs, perhaps the most popular North Star Camp water toy. What exactly is a fun bug? It’s a small yellow water toy that a camper stands on and as he shifts his weight from side to side, fins on the bottom of the fun bug propel the boat through the water. Only our most expert campers have mastered the art of fun bugging!
