Respect for the environment is at the core of North Star’s values. When campers have the opportunity to spend their summer in the Northwoods, away from the city, it is essential to take advantage of this opportunity to connect with the land. From cabin camping trips on remote rivers and lakes to conservation efforts that are put into practice on a daily basis at North Star, concern for the environment is something that we believe every camper leaves camp with.
North Star is graced with a tremendous, diverse ecosystem. Our property has over 2.5 miles of shoreline, bogs, and glacial features. Our ecology program strives to teach campers more about this amazing place. Our instructors create fun, interactive activities that helps our campers explore the animals and land at camp. This may include creating habitats for animals in our ecology area, exploring the shorelines and bogs, or finding lots of edible plants and berries around camp.
