Ecology & Nature
Respect for the environment is a core value at North Star Camp for Boys. When campers come to spend their summer in the Northwoods, away from the city, it is essential to take advantage of this opportunity and connect with the land. From cabin camping trips on remote rivers and lakes, to conservation efforts that are put into practice on a daily basis, concern for the environment is something that we believe every camper leaves North Star Camp with.
North Star Camp is graced with a tremendous, diverse ecosystem. Our property has over 2.5 miles of shoreline, bogs, and glacial features. Our ecology program strives to teach campers more about this amazing place. Our instructors create fun, interactive activities that help our campers explore the animals and land at camp. This may include creating habitats for animals in our ecology area, exploring the shorelines and bogs, or finding lots of edible plants and berries around camp.
