Riflery

Riflery teaches campers marksmanship skills in an environment that stresses safety. From the start of a camper’s participation in this program, campers are taught about the air rifles that they are using, proper techniques, and how to appropriately handle them. The rules of the range are stressed and of utmost importance.

Once campers have this understanding, they shoot targets for awards. The program and awards system is structured so that campers always have another award to strive for. As they progress, they work through the different shooting positions, starting prone, and then learning how to shoot sitting, kneeling, and finally standing.

Riflery gives campers another amazing opportunity to build their self confidence and each camper finds success as he obtains each successive award. Our excellent instructors are often products of the North Star Camp riflery program who are eager to pass along the knowledge they have learned at North Star Camp for Boys.
