Chess

Chess is a game of strategy that is easy to learn but hard to master. At North Star Camp for Boys, beginning chess players learn the basics of the game — the names of the pieces and how they move, initial gameplay strategy and what checkmate means. Intermediate players learn more strategy including how to control the center of the board and playing a mistake-free game. Our advanced level players incorporate a time clock and see if they can outwit their opponent: other advanced campers or the chess instructors!
