Wilderness First Responder Course
This 72+ hour course is the industry standard for professional outdoor guides, ski patrol, and trip leaders, or for individuals who want a high level of wilderness medical training for extended personal backcountry trips or expeditions. The course is being run by Global EMS Solutions and their instructors, utilizing Wilderness Medical Associates International’s (WMAI) curriculum.
- WFR Full Certification Course 1, Seven Day Course: Tuesday, May 20th – Monday, May 26th, 2025
- WFR Full Certification Course 2, Five Day Course: Wednesday, May 28th – Sunday, June 1st, 2025
- WFR Recertification Course, Three Day Course: Wednesday, May 28th – Friday, May 30th, 2025
All courses will require some pre-course work. The five day course pre-course work is more intensive and will require more time to complete. We expect that all participants will have completed the pre-course work ahead of their arrival. Ending time for each course will be determined by the instructor.

All Courses will be held at North Star Camp, located at 10970 W. Boys Camp Road, Hayward, WI 54843.
Costs includes course and materials. Course 1 begins at 9am on May 20th. Participants who are staying at North Star are encouraged to arrive the afternoon or evening of May 19th. Dinner will be provided on the 19th. Course 2 and WFR Recertification course begins at 9am on May 28th. Participants staying on site are encouraged to arrive the afternoon or evening of May 27th. Dinner will be provided on the 27th.
