Glen’s Game and other fun!
Tonight’s evening program was Glen’s Game, a long-running favorite among campers. The objective is simple: reach four marked areas around camp, each staffed by counselors acting as guards. Campers receive a stamp each time they enter a zone without being tagged. Those who collect all four stamps before time runs out complete the game.
The challenge lies in how to approach it. Some campers make a run for it, relying on speed. Others take a more cautious route, watching the guards’ movements and working with friends to create distractions. Getting tagged means returning to the starting point, but even that is part of the fun.

The enthusiasm for tonight’s game was especially high because Pine Manor had their own zone to guard. The younger campers loved trying to get past our oldest boys, who brought their usual energy and focus to the role. Their presence added another layer of energy and excitement, especially for the younger campers who saw them as both role models and rivals. The older campers embraced the chance to take on more responsibility, and the entire camp responded with heightened effort and focus.
Glen’s Game is a blast to play. It gets everyone moving and thinking, and it’s just plain fun to try to outsmart your counselors. The mix of movement, strategy, and friendly competition makes it a highlight of the session.

Even though today was cold and rainy, we still managed to get in our second day of projects. The weather meant some changes, particularly down at the waterfront, where we adjusted activities to better fit the conditions. Despite the chill, the campers stayed engaged and made the most of the day.
This afternoon’s fourth period was Challenge Games, where cabins face off in activities of their own choosing. One cabin might challenge another to softball, while others pick disc golf, basketball, or even a card game. Before the games begin, one camper from each cabin takes the microphone in front of camp to issue the challenge, and the boys love the opportunity to demonstrate their bravado in that way.

Speaking of bravado, it was Max Y’s birthday today and he delivered a birthday speech for the ages. Known around camp for his humor, Max leaned all the way in. He sang two Philadelphia Eagles parody songs, had multiple outfit changes, and pulled out a bag of props that kept the whole Lodge entertained for a solid ten minutes. Afterward, a crowd of campers lined up asking for his autograph! It’s the kind of camp moment we all remember, where being silly is celebrated, and confidence gets a standing ovation.
