110 Acres of Northwoods. 2.5 Miles of Shoreline. 80 Years of Helping Boys Become Their Best Selves. This Is Their North Star.
Ages 8-15 • Hayward, WI
Yep, The Best Place On Earth Is In Northern Wisconsin.
If you ask anyone who knows summer camps, they’ll know North Star. Not because it’s the biggest or the trendiest, but because we’ve always put our boys first. For generations, we’ve obsessed over their health, their happiness, and their growth.
Of course, some people also know us for where we are, and fair enough. It’s hard to miss a 110-acre camp on a peninsula, surrounded by pine forest and clear water, with 2.5 miles of shoreline and endless activities. We’re talking sailing, water skiing, climbing, archery, arts & crafts, basketball, and more.
If you’re new here, this is where to begin.
Once a North Star Camper, Always One.
Susan, from Arizona
Our son came home more confident, more independent, with new friends and stories for days. North Star gave him a summer he’ll never forget — and he can’t wait to go back.
Bradley, From Illinois
North Star changed my life. I learned to sail, build fires, and make lifelong friends. I went to other camps, but this was the one that stuck. If I had sons, they’d go here.
Adam, From Ohio
I spent 13 summers at North Star. The friendships, the staff, the values — they all stayed with me. Dan and Andy continue to carry on what makes this place special.
Think of something boys love.
We have it here.
From sailing to rock climbing, archery to arts & crafts, waterskiing to woodshop — boys at North Star get to try it all. Every day is full of choice, movement, and hands-on learning. Whether they’re into sports, the outdoors, building, or creating, there’s something here for every kind of kid.
They Choose Their Day.
We Make It Lifechanging.
Campers sign up for their own activities and choose what they want to focus on. Some dive into basketball or tennis. Others spend their days on the lake. Some pick up a bow, build something in woodshop, or learn to cook over a fire. They stay active, try new things, and come away more independent — often with a new passion they didn’t know they had.
Thousands Call this home. We take that seriously.
Thousands of our alum still think of this place as home. So we take care of it like it is. Cabins are clean, sturdy, and just steps from the lake. The health center is air-conditioned and staffed 24/7. The gym’s got basketball, ping-pong, and more. Fields, courts, and the waterfront are ready for full days of activity — and everything’s kept in great shape, just like you’d expect from a place that means this much to so many.
